5.1 – What is Confidence?

There are a lot of misconceptions about confidence. Some people think it’s extroversion, the loudest voice in the room, having the right answer, knowing what you’re doing or doing something you’re comfortable with. That’s not confidence or courage. That’s something entirely different. Instead of belaboring what I believe confidence is, I’ll leave it the professionals:

“Daring greatly is not about winning or losing. It’s about courage. In a world where scarcity and shame dominate and feeling afraid has become second nature, vulnerability is subversive. Uncomfortable. It’s even a little dangerous at times. And without question, putting ourselves out there means there’s a far greater risk of feeling hurt. ” — BRENE BROWN
