IT’S ULTIMATE RESET TIME!!!
But, seriously you guys! I’m PUMPED! I watched my friend do this at some point last year and it was AMAZING! And I decided, wouldn’t it be fun to “live blog” the whole thing? So that’s what I’m going to do! As I wrap up each day, I’m going to write about how it’s going! I’ll update the post each day, and then write a re-cap at the end of week 1. Sound good? AWESOME! Knew you’d be game! 😉
PREP TIME – ALSO KNOWN AS “CULINARY BOOTCAMP”
My reset came in on a Wednesday afternoon, and I basically dove straight in. Word of warning – don’t do this! I basically had to figure out this shit, read the whole book (okay – I won’t lie I skimmed it), and grocery shop for an INSANE grocery list all in the span of like a couple hours. Don’t do what I did. Give yourself some time to process the whole thing.

DAY 1 – 1/12/2017:
YUMMY FOOD, GROSS POWER GREENS, AND HOLY HEADACHES!
This is a no coffee program, which makes me sad. I didn’t necessarily need any coffee this morning, but I’m a Seattle girl and I LOVE IT! 🙁
Day 1 has been pretty good so far though. The only thing really eventful has been that a) I think I made the miso soup wrong – oops!, b) the power greens
DAY 2 – 1/13/2017
Well, I woke up this morning still pretty sleepy. I am still sick so I should make note of
Other than that though, things have started off well! I’ve had to majorly tweak my eating times today because I have a 3 hr class on Friday mornings. I can’t necessarily pull out my gigantic salad and start munching on it while sitting in the front row. Well, I could, but it probably wouldn’t be the most polite thing in the world! Off to class…
It’s been SUCH a solid day today, with the exception of the fact that I forgot my little supplement bag on my desk, so I missed some of my supplements this morning. But that’s okay! I’ve felt energized and not really hungry at all the whole day! And I got to eat this BOMB salad for lunch! Seriously, if you want to make anything feel GREEK, whip up a quick little dressing and throw on some kalamata olives! Golden! And this salad was the size of my head! So I’m definitely not starving over here! 😉
My evening was nice and relaxing! No headaches! Though I did find myself a little sleepy again, so I went to bed early. Otherwise, I’m feeling really good.
DAY 3 – 1/14/2017
THE BEGINNING OF THE STRUGGLE…?
I’m a little nervous for today, I’m not going to lie. Mostly because the Ultimate Reset book says that today is the day when people start to struggle. I guess with cravings and what not, but on that
But, frankly, this day has been good! No headaches, no tiredness, and really no hunger!
DAY 4 – 1/15/2017:
Onto day 4, and I’m already happy as a clam! Today’s breakfast, I’m not going to lie, I have been looking forward to since I started! A big ass pile of fresh fruit! I got a ton of mangoes for $0.50 a piece last week, and I’ve been so excited to have it. I don’t think I’ve ever cut a fresh mango before, and it tastes amazing! I also had cantaloupe, apples, and some frozen blueberries on my platter, with some yogurt. It was amazing! I’m happy as a clam.
I don’t want to jinx myself, but I really feel like the hardest part for me has been the headaches so far on days 1 and 2. I looked it up, and it seems like that might have been due to sugar withdrawals. I believe it. As good as I try to be, I definitely have a major sweet tooth! And that is a big reason why I wanted to do this cleanse!
DAY 5 – 1/16/2017:
I’m not going to lie, I’m beginning to dread the moment when the real temptations start to set in. So far there really haven’t been any. I thought lab meeting would be my first true test this
Today did, however, include my first big explanation of what it is I’m doing to one of my coworkers. Even though she’s a good friend of mine, it was one of those nervous moments of “will I be judged for doing something like this?” It’s funny how we always have those fears. Fears that actually end up being unfounded the majority of the time.

It amazed me so much that once you REALLY commit to something, the temptations kind of don’t matter. You don’t really see them, because at that point they’re not temptations at all. At least not to you. Because you know what your goals are. You know what you need to do to get where you want to go. And once you truly DECIDE to do something, everything else doesn’t matter anymore. Not even the piece of cake sitting in front of you.
