Module 2: Hone Your Weaknesses, Own Your Strengths
Module 2.1 - Physical Health
One of the most common things that people want to improve in their lives is their health & fitness. It's seemingly always the first thing that people through on the backburner! In this module, we're going to talk about the aspects of health that people don't often consider, how to develop a balanced and functional regimen, and most importantly, how to build routines and habits into your health & fitness to start making this aspect of your life less of a constant battle and more of something that is second nature!
Module 2.2 - Emotional Health
This is a subject that is very near and dear to my heart!
I've seen so many life balance programs over the year that just look at health & fitness, solely and completely emphasizing the physical aspects of health. And, you know, I get that. Because it's what we all focus on. When the vast majority of us think about health, we think about the vanity aspects of our physicality. Having a six-pack and looking good naked, etc. But, I can tell you from personal experience that the physical aspect of your health is only half of it. You can be the healthiest person in the world physically and be absolutely miserable in your life because you're not taking care of yourself emotionally. In this module, we're going to unpack how to do this!
module 2.3 - Finances
Can you believe that there are programs that cover life and life balance and don't cover finances? Well, believe it. And as much as we may or may not want to think about this part of our lives, it's important. If you don't have your financial life in order, you're going to be limited in many ways. You may not be able to do the things you want to do, see the things you want to see, and you may not be able to invest in yourself in the way that you want to invest in! More so than that, though, if your financial life isn't in order, you're adding a lot of unnecessary stress coming into your life! No matter how you slice it, this is an important section of life that we have to address!
Module 2.4 - Relationships
I've literally gone back and forth on how to go about this module. I've seen many programs that divide them into multiple different categories. Sometimes 3 - family, friends, and romantic relationships. Sometimes 2 - family & friends, romantic relationships. But, the more I thought about it, the more I really felt like they should all be combined.
The healthy relationships with the people in your life shouldn't be different based on that person's relationship to you. Why should your spouse be in a different category than your family? Are they not your family? What about those of us that really aren't close to our families for whatever reason? Aren't your close friends your family? So, I'm approaching this subject by looking at all the relationships in our lives holistically. We'll talk about how to get rid of toxic relationships, and how to create visions of your relationships (yes, you should have them), and how to combine all of these things so that you can prioritize the relationships that you want to be prioritizing.
module 2.5 Mission & Purpose
This is another one of those subjects that is near and dear to my heart because for so much of my adult life, this was the missing ingredient.
I fully affirm and believe that this subject may not necessarily come from your work, but it also might. In this section of the program, we'll look at some of the misconceptions surrounding finding your mission and purpose, how to find your purpose and passion when you're flailing and not 100% sure where you should go and where you should be putting your time, etc.
This is going to be an epic module and I'm very excited for us to go through it!
Module 2.6 - Personal Growth
If you know me at all, you know that I'm obsessed with this category! And this program wouldn't be complete without including. This is one of those categories that people don't even consider usually in their life as the something that is missing because they don't realize how important growth is to living a fulfilling life!
In this module we're going to talk about personal growth, what it is, how to build it in, and how to use this part of your life to do all of the things that you've always wanted to do! Spending intentional time in personal growth, in learning new things and cultivating new skills, is a game changer! And I'm going to show you why in this section!
MoDULE 2.7 - Spirituality
Who out there is saying, "Yeah, no, not me. I don't do church and religion and all that"? (*raises hand*)
Yup. I was right there with you friends. I'm not a spiritual person. I'm not a religious person. My family jokes that we're CEOs - Christmas Eve Only. Other than spirituality and religion really play not role in my life.
But I realized in looking into this more that that is wrong. Just because I'm not Buddhist, or Christian or something more abstract doesn't mean that spirituality doesn't play a role in your life. For some people, their spiritual practices are much more overt. But for those of you who don't outwardly practice a religion, this is going to be important section for finding the way that spirituality fits in your life and how to make it a more intentional thing.
Module 2.8 - Recreation & Fun
How often do you hear yourself saying: "I love doing X, but I don't remember the last time I did it?"
Oh my gosh, well, this section is for you! So so many of us when we were young had these things that we loved to do. Music, sports, reading, painting, singing, etc. The list can go on and on. Some of us found new hobbies when we were in college or when we became adults. But then the nagging adult responsibilities forced us to be more "practical" and to spend our times doing productive things. And yet we all know that old adage about "all work and no play"! So, why do we do this to ourselves?
In this section we're going to talk aobut the important of hobbies and the important of taking some time for YOU to do the things, silly and ridiculous as they may be, that you love to do!
Module 2.9 - Contribution
I went back and forth on whether to make this it's own category. For a lot of people, contribution fits into different places in their life. Sometimes, contribution is an integral part of their purpose and passion. For others, volunteering and giving back is a hobby. But what about for those of who simply want the ability to contribute in simple subtle ways outside of their mission and/or their hobby.
Contribution means different things to different. We will talk about the role contribution plays in our life, the ways in which you can contribute, some ideas for making contribution a bigger part of your life!
