Day 9 - Creating a Life Resume

Day 9 - Creating a Life Resume

It's our second to last day and trust me, I saved one of my favorite topics for this day! As you can tell by the thumbnail on that video above, I'm pretty excited about this one!

One of the things that affect our confidence is that we just don't give ourselves enough credit for the things we've done in our lives. We talked about this a little bit on Day 3 where we talked about deflecting compliments. Today, we're going to take that a step further!

Today, I want you to create a resume. But not your standard "this is where I went to school and this is where I worked" resume. This is a resume of your life! This is a resume to reflect everything that you've done. Not just your certifications or your degrees. I want you to include things like:

  • Formal education
  • Informal education (sports you played, volunteering you did, side-hobbies you pursued)
  • Certifications
  • Online courses & trainings
  • Books you've read
  • Audiobooks you've listened to
  • Life experiences you've had
  • Adversities you've overcome
  • Strengths & Passions
  • What your friends complain about that you find effortless
  • The things you love learning about the most
  • The kinds of things you watch and read

The list could go on and on! The point I'm making is that I want you to chronicle all the experiences you have and the things you've learned throughout your life, whether in a classroom or not. Anytime you achieve something or overcome something, I want you to add it to your life resume. And by the time you're 80, I want the thing to be 20, 30, heck 40 pages long! And whenever you doubt yourself, whenever you feel your confidence faltering, I want you to pull this document out to remind you that you can do hard things because you've done them already. You've achieved so much! Consider this your confidence evidence file and refer back to it as often as necessary!
