Day 1 - The 4 Types of Confidence

Day 1 - The 4 Types of Confidence

I generally think that there are 4 types of confidence: social, knowledge, appearance, and ability. Social confidence refers to your confidence in your ability to communicate with, interact with, and connect with people. Knowledge, as it implies, refers to your confidence in your understanding and grasp of a particular subject matter. Appearance refers to your confidence in your body or whether you struggle with your body image. Lastly, ability refers to your confidence in how capable you are at doing something. Is there a particular type of confidence that you struggle with the most?

What I want you to do today is to take out a piece of paper and write down the 4 types of confidence - social, knowledge, appearance, and ability. Next to each of those names, I want to score yourself from 1 to 10 on how confident you feel about each of those types of confidence, where 1 is you completely lack confidence in this area, and 10 is that you have all the confidence in the world in this area. Try to give yourself a broad range of ratings.

Now you may be looking at this list and (gasp!) feel like you struggle in all 4 areas. That's fine and not uncommon at all! What we're trying to determine is, where do you struggle the most? Social confidence, knowledge, appearance & body image, or ability? Once you've determined that, that becomes your new focus!

I suggest you spend some intentional time working on this area. Read some blogs! Listen to podcasts! Or check out my favorite resources here!
